26th Feb, 2020   Feature story:

SFU renewed its contract with Navitas today, extending their 14 year partnership in support of the university’s international engagement strategy. The collaboration between SFU and Navitas began in 2006 with the launch of Fraser International College (FIC), an on-campus pathway program designed to meet the unique needs of international students and prepare them for future success at SFU.

“The strength of SFU’s partnership with Navitas is a testament to our shared vision, commitment to collaboration and dedication to fostering the success of international students,” remarked Jonathan Driver, SFU Vice-President, Academic and Provost.

“Fraser International College continues to produce engaged and ambitious learners who, as global citizens, contribute greatly to our campus community and enhance SFU’s ability to provide all of our students with diverse and transformative learning opportunities.

FIC has advanced SFU’s internationalization goals by increasing the quantity and diversity of the university’s international student enrollments while consistently achieving outstanding student outcomes and producing award-winning alumni. FIC has been recognized by both British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) and Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) for excellence in programming, marketing and student leadership.

“It’s a privilege for Navitas to partner with Simon Fraser University, a forward-thinking institution with a long-standing commitment to internationalization,” said Dr. Brian J.R. Stevenson, President and CEO, Navitas North America.

“We look forward to the shared success of Fraser International College for many years to come.

SFU and Navitas’ partnership will continue through 2030.
