Announcing our two FY27 Navitas Education Trust partners!

The Navitas Education Trust funds education projects to help people gain better access to education, creating positive far-reaching impact for many communities around the world.

For the last 12 years, we have partnered with forward-thinking and sustainability-oriented organisations bringing education to disadvantaged communities.

This month, we are delighted to welcome two returning partners for a two-year partnership period spanning FY27 and FY28: Classroom of Hope and CAMFED – Campaign for Female Education!

Classroom of Hope: Indonesia

Classroom of Hope is an Australian-registered charity transforming education across Asia, including Indonesia and Timor-Leste, by rebuilding safe, sustainable schools and delivering community-led programs. Since 2012, they have partnered with local organisations to construct earthquake-resilient classrooms using recycled plastic waste, while supporting student wellbeing through initiatives in waste management, English education, and child rights. Their approach goes beyond infrastructure, creating safer, more engaging learning environments that improve motivation, wellbeing, and long-term community resilience in underserved regions.

“Navitas has been with us since 2013, making them our longest-standing partner and one of the most significant forces behind our growth. This year, that partnership funds five new classrooms and two toilets for 236 students at SDN 2 Pohgading Timur, where four classes have been learning in temporary structures with zinc and plaster board walls since the 2018 earthquakes. Over a decade into our partnership, Navitas’s commitment keeps changing lives,” shares Nicola Courtin, Co-Founder and Creative Director, Classroom of Hope.

NET funding supports their Safe Schools, Strong Futures: Transforming Education in Lombok project, building earthquake-resistant classrooms at schools in Lombok, Indonesia that were affected by the 2018 earthquakes.

CAMFED – Campaign for Female Education: Zimbabwe

CAMFED is an international non-profit dedicated to educating girls and empowering young women in sub-Saharan Africa. Founded in 1993, it works with local communities and governments to remove barriers to education, such as poverty, early marriage, and gender inequality. CAMFED provides financial support, mentoring, and leadership programs, helping girls stay in school and transition into employment or entrepreneurship. Its alumnae network reinvests in future generations, creating a sustainable cycle of opportunity, independence, and social change led by educated women.

“We are delighted to partner with Navitas to strengthen peer support for girls in schools across Zimbabwe. At CAMFED, we show that when girls are supported by young women from their own communities – role models who have navigated similar challenges – they are more likely to stay in school, build confidence, and fulfil their potential. Through this partnership, more learners will benefit from trusted mentors who provide practical guidance, encouragement and a safe space to tackle the challenges of adolescence. Together with Navitas, we’re investing in the power of young women to inspire the next generation to learn, thrive, and lead change,” shares Justina Hama, Co-Executive Director of CAMFED Zimbabwe. 

NET funding supports their Peer Support and Education Program for Girls in Rural Zimbabwe project, bringing critical peer support to girls completing secondary school in Zimbabwe. This project includes the innovative Learner Guide program, which trains young women from marginalised backgrounds to return to local schools as Learner Guides. Learner Guides provide targeted academic and wellbeing support to girls at risk of exclusion, including one-to-one mentoring, home visits, and links to additional support services.
