Credibility Interview

Guidance and resources to help you prepare for Admissions and UKVI Credibility Interviews.

As part of the application and visa process, you may be required to attend either an admissions interview, a UKVI credibility interview, or both. These interviews help assess your suitability for study, your understanding of your chosen course and institution, and your genuine intention to study in the UK.

Admissions interviews are conducted by the College and focus on your academic background, course choice, study plans, and motivation for pursuing your programme. UKVI credibility interviews form part of the student visa application process and allow UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) to confirm that applicants are genuine students with clear educational and career objectives.

To prepare effectively, you should be able to confidently explain your academic history, reasons for choosing your course and institution, future career aspirations, and why studying in the UK supports your goals.

The guidance and resources available on this page have been designed to help you prepare for both admissions and UKVI interviews and give you the best opportunity to present your plans clearly and confidently.

Key Things to Remember

  • If you are invited to attend an interview, attendance is mandatory. Failure to attend may result in your application or visa being refused.
  • Your interview responses are used to assess whether you are a genuine student with clear study and career plans.
  • Interview outcomes can affect both admissions decisions and Student visa applications.
  • Prepare. Review. Succeed. Start with the guidance and videos above.
