Employers place great value on relevant work experience when hiring graduates - but three in four young people aren’t confident they have the practical skills to gain full time work. Internships are a useful way for students to bridge this gap, gain business specific skills, and learn more about a specific industry, yet only 14% of university students undertook an internship in 2017. Internships can be difficult to secure, especially for international students.
