Western Sydney University International College hosts alumni dinner
Western Sydney University International College (the International College) held its first-ever alumni event, a dinner on the beautiful river in Parramatta. The event offered students, many of whom were former Student Representative Committee members, an opportunity to reconnect.

Students who attended the event came from a diverse range of backgrounds, including Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Kenya, Qatar, and Bermuda. Along with the former students, the International College discussed new ways to network with alumni and leverage their expertise to inform and inspire current students.

The event provided some themes and insights from the International College’s former students:
- The friendships that were formed at the International College have continued throughout their studies at Western Sydney University, despite the students studying different undergraduate degrees and having different timetables.
- The teachers and staff have left deep impressions on students. They spoke about the fun they had during class, and how much they knew the teachers cared for them.
- The students now have a greater appreciation for how much the International College held their hand during their studies, compared to independent learning at Western Sydney University.
- The students all said they missed the International College, and every student was so grateful that they started their studies with the International College.
The alumni dinner was a powerful reminder of how the International College experience laid the foundation not only for academic success but also for lifelong friendships and professional networks.
