Recognising leadership: ECC students attend ECU Alumni Awards

Edith Cowan College (ECC) Student Leaders had the special opportunity to attend the ECU Alumni Awards Night this month, witnessing how Edith Cowan University (ECU) graduates are making a positive impact on communities both locally and around the world.

The experience highlighted how being a Student Leader extends beyond supporting events, opening doors to inspiring and memorable opportunities. It also recognised the Student Leaders’ commitment, dedication and valuable contributions to the ECC community.

Jisant, one of the ECC Student Leaders shared her experience at the Alumni Awards Night:

“I had a fantastic evening at The Westin Perth for the ECU Aluminate 2026 Alumni Awards. It was inspiring to celebrate the incredible achievements of ECU graduates, connect with peers and industry leaders, and support the Inspiring Minds Scholarship fund to help future students thrive.”

Renagi, another ECC Student Leader, also reflected positively on the experience, sharing how the evening offered an opportunity to connect with inspiring people and learn from the achievements of ECU alumni:

“Being able to attend and witness the Edith Cowan University Alumni awards night was such a great experience! Thank you so much to the ECC staff and ECU for giving us the opportunity to be apart of an incredible night! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to meet, connect and share experiences with such inspiring people. Hearing the remarkable stories of ECU alumni their journeys, achievements and contributions to the community made me feel truly honoured to be in the room.

I left feeling inspired, encouraged and more determined to continue learning, growing and making meaningful contributions to our community. I walked into the room feeling grateful and left believing more deeply in what I could become.”
