Pies and postcards bring students closer at Western International College
At Western International College (WesternIC), located on the beautiful campus of Western University in London, Ontario, students came together for Pies and Postage, a heartwarming activity that brought a taste of home to campus life.
Over a slice of pie, students wrote postcards to their parents, sharing messages from their new home in Canada. Their creative notes sparked plenty of fun, and the activity soon drew in Canadian students, too. As conversations flowed, students shared their experiences of living away from home for the first time and missing their families, forming new connections through their shared experiences.
WesternIC’s welcoming environment provides the perfect setting for students to feel at home. Housed in a former library, the college features soaring ceilings, two-storey windows overlooking a sprawling natural landscape and a heritage forest. The inspiring surroundings offer students a peaceful space to learn, connect and grow.
Beyond the campus environment, WesternIC provides additional support for undergraduate and postgraduate students as they adjust to the expectations of Canadian classrooms. Dedicated programming also helps students settle into campus life and become part of the local community, ensuring they feel supported as they embark on their academic journey.
