Navitas walking The Learner’s Journey with Heidi Sulcas

Innovation is best understood when it is experienced. This was brought to life as Navitas School Engagement Representative Victoria Kimotho recently participated in The Learner’s Journey counsellors’ Community event, hosted by Heidi Sulcas in Cape Town. The dynamic annual gathering was designed to strengthen collaboration, professional development, and shared impact within South Africa’s school counselling network.

Day 1 set the tone with an inspiring meeting of 33 school counsellors and representatives from 15 international universities, all united by a shared purpose: to upskill and enhance our impact as counsellors across South Africa. The sessions encouraged meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and deeper reflection on how we guide students through their academic journeys.

Day 2 brought practical insights to the forefront through engaging panel discussions with parents and students at Bridge House School. The conversations highlighted real experiences and expectations to guide parents and students.

The event concluded with an extended edition of the inaugural University Speaking Live – Student Conference at Rondebosch Boys’ High School, where more than 500 participants registered. The energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm from students reinforced the importance of partnership between schools and universities in shaping future pathways.
