Navitas and Austrade inspire career pathways across Latin America
Navitas LATAM and Austrade Bogotá recently co-hosted a festive Christmas in July event for education agents in Colombia, celebrating collaboration and innovation in international education. The event featured key contributions from Camilo Peña and Natalia Piedrahita of Austrade, alongside Felipe Orrego from Navitas LATAM, whose insights and energy added depth to the engaging session.
In a separate initiative to enhance career guidance in the region, Austrade also launched the first official Career Matcher training last month at Australia’s Official Residence in Las Lomas de Chapultepec. The Career Matcher is an interactive platform that helps students discover how their personality traits, strengths, and employability skills align with key career sectors in Australia. In today’s fast-evolving education landscape, such tools are essential for helping students make informed and confident career decisions.
Led by Penny Toledo Ocampo, Deputy Head of Mission, and Laura Díaz, Business Development Manager at Austrade, the session marked an essential step in expanding the initiative across the region. Lorraine Castanares, School Engagement Manager for Navitas LATAM, co-hosted the workshop, guiding attendees through an experience designed to ignite curiosity, foster meaningful discussion, and inspire informed action.
Participants explored the Career Matcher through the lens of a student, engaging with their personal results and reflecting on how personality impacts learning styles, leadership potential, and career pathways. Practical strategies and classroom prompts were also shared to help educators integrate the tool into their everyday guidance and support roles.
Educators who completed the training earned the Career Matcher Professional eBadge, which signifies counsellors’ ability to guide students through the test and interpret its results in ways that can shape their futures. This credential highlights a commitment to transformative career education.
As the Career Matcher continues to expand throughout Latin America, Navitas and Austrade remain focused on empowering educators to help students dream boldly and plan wisely, equipping the next generation with the insights they need to thrive in a global future.
