ICM Students spread kindness during Student Success Month

October was Student Success Month, featuring a packed calendar of workshops and activities at the International College of Manitoba (ICM)! One of the highlights was a heartwarming field trip to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

During the visit, students volunteered at the animal shelter, including packing dog and cat food for donation programs and making special treats. A pet therapy session concluded the day, where students spent time bonding with dogs, an experience that brought smiles all around.

ICM student Amina Shahid shared, “The pet event was heartwarming and brought students together in a joyful, stress-free environment. I’ve met amazing people from diverse backgrounds, created positive memories for students far from home, and love that the ICM community helps students grow, try new experiences, build friendships, and feel truly connected.”

On the way to the shelter, the group also had a chance to visit the Rooster Town Kettle Monument, symbolising community hospitality and the water rights of Indigenous people.

Through initiatives like this, ICM continues to celebrate student success beyond the classroom, fostering community, well-being, and meaningful connections.
