Graduate Insights Week connects ECU Sri Lanka students with alumni
ECU Sri Lanka brought current students and successful graduates together through Graduate Insights Week, a four-day student engagement initiative taking place from 6 to 9 October 2026. The initiative gives students the opportunity to hear directly from graduates who have recently navigated university life and successfully transitioned into their careers or postgraduate studies.
Held across four days, the sessions focused on different disciplines each day, bringing together graduates from Biomedical Science and Nursing, Commerce, Design and Engineering, and Computer Science to share their experiences and practical advice with current students.
The first sessions commenced on 6 October, with the programme continuing throughout the week at ECU Sri Lanka. Students were encouraged to engage with the graduates, ask questions and make the most of the opportunity to learn from their experiences. Through moderated panel discussions and interactive Q&A sessions, graduates shared insights on the following topics:
- academic journeys
- effective study and assignment management strategies
- Work-Integrated Learning and internship experiences
- work-life balance
- professional networking
- career pathways
These sessions offered students the opportunity to ask questions about topics that matter to them, from achieving strong academic results and securing internships to navigating the transition from university to the workplace and exploring future career opportunities.
Built around the idea that students can learn valuable lessons from those who have recently walked the same path, Graduate Insights Week provided practical guidance, encouragement and a clearer understanding of opportunities beyond university. By connecting current students with relatable ECU Sri Lanka graduates, the initiative helped bridge the gap between academic learning and professional life.
Graduate Insights Week also strengthened ECU Sri Lanka’s connection with its alumni community, creating a platform for graduates to share their knowledge, give back to the university and inspire the next generation of ECU students.
