From Dubai to Perth: a week of learning and adventure for The Murdoch University Prize 2025 Winners
At long last, the much-anticipated international immersion for the Murdoch University Prize 2025 winners has become a reality. This week-long journey brought to life the true spirit of the competition: discovering new perspectives, embracing global learning, and creating meaningful memories that will stay with these young leaders for years to come.
The winning team from Uptown International School Dubai, accompanied by their dedicated Career Counsellor, Ms Shahana Salman, enjoyed an unforgettable experience at Murdoch University’s main campus in Perth, Australia. From touring the impressive Equine Centre and exploring our expansive facilities, to engaging in enriching conversations with our leading faculty members, the students gained fresh insights into emerging trends in Communication and Information Technology. These interactions helped them understand the rapidly evolving career landscape and allowed them to envision what their futures could look like.
Beyond academics, the immersion offered a vibrant mix of culture, nature, and adventure. The students explored Australia’s rich heritage and unique biodiversity—from admiring the stunning coastal views of Rottnest Island and snapping cheerful selfies with quokkas to feeding kangaroos and learning about conservation efforts that protect koalas. Time spent wandering through Perth’s lively city centre added to the experience, offering fresh air, new sights, and opportunities to form new friendships.
Most importantly, this experience allowed the students to build strong and lasting bonds. Travelling together, stepping outside their comfort zones, and sharing unforgettable moments created friendships that feel truly lifelong.
This experience was made possible through the outstanding support of the TNE Team, led by Jenny Crawford, whose meticulous planning ensured a seamless trip. Navitas also extends sincere appreciation to senior leaders at Murdoch University and Murdoch University Dubai, Simon McKirdy, Mike Gallimore, Mark Brown, and Roy Strik, for their unwavering belief in this initiative and for championing experiences that uplift and empower young learners.
More than a prize, this immersion was a celebration of curiosity, learning, and the power of global connection. For the Murdoch University Prize 2025 winners, it marks just the beginning of many exciting adventures ahead.
