Eynesbury College Familiarisation Tour 2026: experience Adelaide like a local
A campus tour provides valuable insight into an institution, but understanding the student experience often requires looking beyond the classroom.
This was the focus of the 2026 Eynesbury College Familiarisation Tour (Fam Tour), which welcomed more than 30 education professionals from key international markets to Adelaide for five days of campus visits, professional connections and first-hand experiences of the city.
The itinerary included visits to Eynesbury College and Adelaide University, providing agents with opportunities to explore the campuses, learn more about pathway programmes and connect with the teams supporting students throughout their educational journey.
Beyond the campus visits, the tour also aimed to give participants a deeper understanding of what it is like to live and study in Adelaide.
One agent captured this objective clearly:
“We know how to sell Eynesbury College, but we don’t know what it’s like to be a student and live in Adelaide.”
In response, the tour offered participants opportunities to experience student life firsthand, helping them better understand the destination they promote to prospective students.
The group explored Adelaide using public transport, navigating the city with metro cards and visiting popular local attractions. With a combination of walking and tram journeys, participants experienced Adelaide’s reputation as a 20-minute city, where many key attractions are easily accessible from the city centre.
The group also explored Adelaide University facilities, gaining further insight into the learning environment and daily experiences available to international students.
A little friendly competition
An Amazing Race-style challenge added an element of friendly competition to the programme, with teams completing activities and solving clues as they made their way through Adelaide before travelling by tram to Glenelg Beach.
The challenge concluded at Glenelg Beach, where participants enjoyed the sunset, ice cream and an opportunity to connect in a relaxed setting while experiencing South Australian hospitality.
Discovering Adelaide’s local flavour
A visit to Adelaide Central Market was another highlight of the programme. Hosted by StudyAdelaide, the experience introduced participants to the market’s diverse selection of local produce and its role as one of Adelaide’s most recognised community destinations.
For the Southeast Asian group, the local experience continued with an Australian barbecue hosted at a private residence in Adelaide. The gathering provided a glimpse into everyday Australian life, bringing together family, food and pets in a welcoming home environment. Rusty the golden retriever also proved to be a memorable highlight of the visit.
Beyond the city
The final day took participants to the Adelaide Hills, where they explored the region’s natural attractions, including waterfalls, wildlife and wineries. A koala encounter offered another opportunity to experience South Australia’s unique wildlife, with plenty of photos capturing the occasion.
Over the five days, participants experienced far more than campuses and classrooms. From navigating public transport and exploring local markets to sharing meals and discovering regional attractions, the programme provided a broader perspective on the lifestyle and experiences available to international students in Adelaide.
Taking Adelaide home
For Eynesbury College, the Fam Tour is about more than introducing agents to its campus. It is an opportunity to equip education partners with the knowledge and confidence to communicate the full student experience, from the academic environment and support services to the everyday experiences of living in Adelaide.
Feedback from participants indicated that the tour had helped strengthen their understanding of both the institution and the destination. One attendee reflected: “Our perspectives of Adelaide changed for the better. The group leaves with so many great memories and positive impressions. Most importantly, we gained a much deeper understanding of Eynesbury College and Adelaide University, which will certainly help us in supporting and promoting both the institution and the destination.”
At the conclusion of the five-day programme, participants departed with new professional connections, valuable insights and a deeper appreciation of Adelaide as a study destination.
By combining campus visits with authentic local experiences, the 2026 Eynesbury College Fam Tour demonstrated how first-hand exposure can help education partners better understand and communicate the opportunities available to international students, enabling them to share a more informed and compelling perspective on studying and living in Adelaide.
