Eynesbury College + Adelaide University develop future researchers in a global collaboration

The 2026 Pre-University Research Competition, delivered by Eynesbury College in partnership with Adelaide University and Vinschool in Vietnam, has showcased the power of collaboration in nurturing future-ready students.

Bringing together some of Vietnam’s most curious and capable secondary students, the competition invited participants to develop original research proposals that explored real-world challenges and ideas that mattered to them. Close to 50 submissions were received, each reflecting strong academic integrity, curiosity and ambition.

Supporting students every step of the way

Eynesbury College academic staff Manvi Gandhi and Paul Monopoli played a pivotal role throughout the competition, mentoring students on how to shape and strengthen their research proposals. From the initial review process, which shortlisted 49 submissions, through to the intensive mentoring of six finalists, Manvi and Paul’s guidance helped students build confidence, clarity and ownership over their work.

The Grand Final event

Six finalists progressed to the Grand Final which was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, where the students presented their research proposals live on stage. Presenting in front of Adelaide University representatives, teachers, peers and families, students demonstrated not only academic capability but also confidence, authenticity and courage.

The finalists were evaluated by Adelaide University academics, with the top three students recognised for the quality and originality of their work. Each winner received scholarships to study at Eynesbury College and a study trip to Adelaide, marking an exciting next step in their academic journey.
