ECU Sri Lanka students gain industry experience through AmCham BootCamp 2026

Five outstanding students from Edith Cowan University Sri Lanka took part in the AmCham BootCamp 2026 Internship Program. From 7 July to 3 September 2026, Charith Mendis, Eshan Cuttilan, Treshiya Fernando, Natasha Fernando and Miheesha Alwis embarked on a transformative journey through Sri Lanka’s corporate landscape

The program provided students with valuable opportunities to bridge academic learning with real-world industry experience through corporate placements, executive mentorship, industry visits and professional masterclasses.

As part of the program, the students were placed within leading organisations across Sri Lanka, gaining hands-on exposure to professional environments and developing practical workplace skills. Each intern was also paired one-on-one with a senior corporate leader, providing valuable mentorship focused on executive presence, strategic thinking and professional resilience.

The immersive experience extended beyond the workplace, with students visiting leading organisations including Coca-Cola Beverages, Microsoft, Bank of Ceylon, HSBC, the US Embassy, JAT and Colombo West International Terminal (CWIT).

Students also participated in classroom-based masterclasses covering essential corporate competencies, facilitated by knowledge partner Luminary Learning Solutions, further strengthening their professional knowledge and career readiness.

The AmCham BootCamp 2026 Internship Program was organised by AmCham Sri Lanka (American Chamber of Commerce) in partnership with the US Embassy Sri Lanka, in collaboration with HSBC, with Sysco Labs as the Strategic Partner and Luminary Learning Solutions as the Knowledge Partner.

Through opportunities such as these, ECU Sri Lanka students continue to gain meaningful industry exposure, connect with experienced professionals and take their learning beyond the classroom.
