ECU Sri Lanka hosts Multi-Religious Blessing Ceremony celebrating unity and cultural harmony

On 6 July 2026, Edith Cowan University (ECU) Sri Lanka brought together students, staff, and distinguished religious leaders for a special Multi-Religious Blessing Ceremony, reflecting the University’s commitment to inclusivity, mutual respect, and cultural diversity.

The day commenced with a Catholic Holy Mass, followed by a Hindu Blessing Ceremony and an Islamic Blessing Ceremony, with each faith offering prayers for the continued success, wellbeing, and prosperity of the University community.

The celebrations concluded with a Pirith Chanting Ceremony, where members of the Buddhist clergy invoked blessings for ECU Sri Lanka, its students, staff, leadership, and future growth.

As the first international university in Sri Lanka, ECU Sri Lanka takes pride in fostering an environment where people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds are welcomed, respected, and celebrated. The Multi-Religious Blessing Ceremony served as a meaningful reminder that unity in diversity is one of the University’s greatest strengths, reinforcing its vision of creating a community built on respect, compassion, and shared values.
