Canada Study Permit Essentials Training highlights | South East Asia

Navitas University Partnerships North America delivered a Canada Study Permit Essentials training series for education agents across South East Asia in May and June. Led by Francis Tse, Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA) and Compliance and Immigration Support Coordinator at Navitas Canada, the two-part sessions aimed to strengthen agents’ understanding of the Canada study permit process and improve their ability to support students in preparing strong, complete applications.

The first webinar provided a comprehensive overview of the study permit process, including Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requirements, documentation and financial proof preparation, SOP and Study Plan development, application submission via the IRCC portal, and common refusal reasons along with mitigation strategies. A live Q&A session was provided for agents to clarify key concerns in real time

Following strong engagement, a second workshop provided practical, step-by-step guidance on completing Form IMM1294, writing effective SOPs, and organising financial documents. The session also emphasised the importance of understanding the rationale behind application components and highlighted the value of close collaboration working with the Canada Study Permit team for document reviews.

Together, the sessions enhanced agents’ technical knowledge, reinforced best practices, and strengthened their ability to guide students more effectively through the Canada visa and study permit preparation and submission process.
