Built on Community, Driven by Student Success – The WLIC Experience
At Wilfrid Laurier International College (WLIC), students don’t wait to become part of the community; they arrive as Golden Hawks from day one. This strong sense of belonging is at the core of the WLIC experience, supported by a close-knit environment and a hands-on, one-on-one advising approach that ensures students are guided not only academically but also in building confidence, expanding their perspectives, and growing into globally minded individuals.
This growth extends far beyond the classroom. This month, WLIC launched Team iSPARK (International Students Promoting Action, Responsibility, and Kindness) to enrich the student experience through community involvement. As part of its initiatives, students have been volunteering at a local homeless shelter and participating in community festivals, gaining meaningful Canadian experience while developing career-ready skills and a deeper sense of social responsibility. Building on this spirit of connection and inclusion, the campus also hosted a Ramadan Iftar gathering, bringing students together to celebrate culture, foster understanding, and create meaningful shared experiences. These moments reflect the essence of WLIC, a place where diversity is embraced, and every student feels seen and supported.
WLIC celebrates both high-achieving students and creative minds, fostering an environment where everyone is equipped with the tools to succeed. The result is more than academic success; it’s a supportive community that helps students grow, connect, and truly belong.
