BCUIC celebrates the Class of 2025’s end-of-year achievements
Last month, Birmingham City University International College (BCUIC) held its end-of-year awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025. The event was well attended by students, staff, tutors, and alumni students, who watched as awards were given for academic excellence, 100% attendance, class engagement, and much more.

Key addresses were provided by the Director of Academic and Student Services, Ebenezer Dsane-Laryea, tutors, Nuno Lourinho Pereira Jose (Arts, Design, and Media Faculty) and Fiaz Afsar (Computing, Engineering and Built Environment Faculty), and four alumni students (listed below) who have been voted onto Birmingham City University’s (BCU) Student Union Officer Team for 2025-26:
- Shoukat Mehsud (Vice-President Academic Experience 2024-25 and Student Union President 2025-2026)
- Oluwadamilola Iyanda (Vice-President Equity & Inclusion 2024-25 and Vice-President Welfare 2025-26)
- Wahid Umatiya (Vice-President Community 2025-26)
- Craig David (Vice-President Education 2025-26)

The alumni welcomed graduating students to the university and encouraged them to continue their student journey at BCU by taking advantage of all opportunities given by the university and becoming the future leaders of the BCU student community.

Special performances were given by current students Victoria Obe (Vocals), Daniel Ajibade (Saxophone) and Aein Hmu Min Hlaing (Piano) to showcase their talents to the receptive audience. Appreciation was also given to BCUIC’s hardworking senior lecturers in Arts, Business and Technology – Bhavik Sharma, Anjil Bala and Dennis Appiah, as well as BCUIC’s College Support Team, who deliver professional service to BCUIC students behind the scenes to ensure they succeed and proceed to the university.
