Twin brothers at TMUIC achieve Principal’s Honour Roll Distinction
At Toronto Metropolitan University International College (TMUIC), student success is not only an outcome but also a designed experience. Each semester, this commitment comes to life through the Navitas Academic Merit Scholarships, celebrating students who not only meet expectations but also redefine them. This past term, one story captured that spirit in a truly memorable way.
Twin brothers Brandon and Cyrus Wong were both awarded the prestigious Principal’s Honour Roll Award, an exceptional result made even more remarkable by the fact that they achieved it side by side.
Reserved for a select group of high-performing students, the award recognises sustained academic excellence over the preceding year. With a minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 4.00 across all graded courses, the bar is intentionally high, and not every semester sees recipients meet this standard. Brandon and Cyrus didn’t just meet the standard; they matched each other at the very top.
Their journey began in Hong Kong, where both brothers built strong academic foundations in their Grade 12 studies. Choosing TMUIC as their entry point into Canada was a deliberate decision, one grounded in the desire for a more supported, personalised transition into university life. That choice has proven pivotal.
Through TMUIC’s structured pathway and student-centred environment, Brandon and Cyrus were able to build confidence, adapt quickly, and excel academically. Today, Brandon has progressed into the second year of his Bachelor of Science, while Cyrus has embarked on his Engineering degree, each continuing their journey at Toronto Metropolitan University with momentum and purpose.
Their story is a powerful reflection of what happens when ambition meets the right environment, a place where students are known, supported, and set up to thrive.
