DLI strengthens school partnerships through the Halal Bihalal gathering in Jakarta

To strengthen partnerships and foster meaningful exchange within the Indonesian education community, Deakin University Lancaster University Indonesia (DLI) hosted a professional Halal Bihalal gathering for school counsellors. Held on Tuesday, 2 April 2026, in Jakarta, the event provided a warm yet strategic setting for academic leaders to connect following the Idul Fitri holiday.

The gathering brought together representatives from 14 prominent institutions, reflecting the broad reach of DLI’s collaborative network. Participating schools included:

  • International and intercultural schools: BINUS School Simprug, Mentari Intercultural School Grand Surya, Tzu Chi School PIK, and SPK Saint Peter School
  • National plus and private schools: Global Prestasi School Bekasi, Sekolah Bogor Raya, Kharisma Bangsa School, SMA Global Mandiri Cibubur, Mutiara Harapan Islamic School, SMA Kanaan, and SMA Islam Al-Izhar Pondok Labu
  • Public high schools: SMAN 78 West Jakarta, SMAN 87, and SMA Jakarta Islamic School

Beyond the seasonal celebration, the event served as a platform for direct engagement between the counselling community and DLI’s senior leadership. Arifin, Chief Operating Officer of DLI, along with the broader DLI team, shared key updates regarding the university’s growth and the evolving landscape of international education in Indonesia.

In his remarks, Arifin expressed deep appreciation for the counsellors’ vital role in student development. “These gatherings are essential for fostering the strong, supportive relationships that allow us to better serve our students and partner schools,” he noted, emphasising DLI’s commitment to long-term collaboration.

The vibrant afternoon atmosphere underscored the strong synergy between DLI and its partner schools. By combining the tradition of Halal Bihalal with professional networking, DLI continues to build a foundation for impactful partnerships and shared academic success in the region.
