Western Sydney University International College named finalist in the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Awards
Congratulations to Western Sydney University International College (the International College) on being named a finalist in the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Awards at Western Sydney University. Both the Academic and Student Services team were recognised in the Strengthening Student Success category alongside six other outstanding University nominees, which reflects the College’s strong performance in delivering high-quality student outcomes.
The award submission, led by Dr Ankit Agarwal, Academic Director, showcased consistently strong pass rates exceeding targets, retention and transition rates above 90%, and student satisfaction levels surpassing 85%. These results demonstrate the impact of a highly collaborative and student-centred approach across academic and professional teams.
Notably, this marks the first time the International College has submitted a nomination for these annual awards. Being shortlisted in such a competitive field is a significant achievement and a testament to the College’s continued commitment to excellence.
As noted by Emeritus Professor Geoff Scott, Chair of the Western Sydney University International College Academic Board, “Both the Academic Board and I have been particularly impressed with the commitment of the College leadership and its academic and support staff in assuring the quality of the total student experience and securing our students’ subsequent success at Western Sydney University.”
