A transforming campus for students at the University of Portsmouth
The University of Portsmouth is laying the foundations for an exciting future through an ambitious Estate Masterplan which will enhance the student experience, support world-class teaching and research, and future-proof our campus for generations to come. International College Portsmouth (ICP) students on campus will benefit from it.
Over the next few years, several landmark developments will reshape the look and feel of the campus:
Wiltshire Building
A beautiful restoration of a former military drill shed, bringing heritage and purpose together. The refurbished Wiltshire Building will become the new home of our front-of-house Student Services, support the wider development of the Student Hub and create a more connected, student-centred experience.
Teaching Laboratory Building
Purpose-built, modern teaching laboratories designed for collaboration, efficiency and innovation. This new space will bring together forensic services, the Extreme Environment Lab, and flexible teaching and learning areas — enabling interdisciplinary learning in state-of-the-art facilities.
Technology Building
A transformational new home for the Faculty of Technology, co-locating staff, students and facilities in one high-quality, multifunctional environment. This building will consolidate existing facilities and elevate the overall student experience through modern design and integrated learning spaces.
Civil Engineering Lab (CELAB)
A dedicated, purpose-built facility designed to complement the Technology Building. CELAB will house specialised laboratories and support facilities essential for civil engineering education and research, reinforcing Portsmouth’s strength in applied, industry-focused learning.
These developments represent a commitment to innovation, sustainability, student support and academic excellence. The university and ICP cannot wait for students to experience these incredible new spaces!
