Jimmy Pham AM is the Founder and Executive Chairman of KOTO (Know One Teach One). From the streets of Hanoi to establishing Vietnam’s first social enterprise, Jimmy’s determination to create change in his community inspired the creation of KOTO. KOTO’s ongoing journey as a transformative non-profit organisation delivers programs that empowers at-risk youth through hands-on hospitality training, while providing them with the skills and opportunities they need for a brighter future.
No stranger to accolades, Jimmy has been recognised as a World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leader, appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his service to his community, and in 2021 Jimmy won the Waislitz Global Citizens’ Choice Award, as well as the Advance Awards Asia Impact award, for his significant contributions to the Asian region.
KOTO has been a valued partner of the Navitas Education Trust (NET) since 2017. NET support has helped fund projects dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth in Vietnam gain better access to education, which in turn creates a positive, far-reaching impact on communities.

My name is Jimmy Pham, I am the Founder and Chairman of the KOTO (Know One Teach One) Vietnam’s very first social enterprise.
We’ve been with NET since 2017, so nearly 10 years now. This partnership with Navitas, it transformed over 100 student’s life – and KOTO is always about the ripple effect, it’s about ‘once help, help others’. For us, it’s through education, which is aligned to our shared values with Navitas – we are transforming disadvantaged and at risk youth into empowered hospitality professionals, and active citizens as well.
The partnership with Navitas has made such a significant contribution to KOTO. So these 100 students have gone out to help the community, help their families, and help the hospitality industry.
I guess the key achievement for us with Navitas is always about the partnership. It was never about the donor/recipient relationship, it’s about this traveling side by side, it’s about this mentorship, it’s about this encouragement. Not just a financial contribution, but it’s just a wonderful relationship that we have, and again, it’s a shared value of education and transformation as well.
We want to say a a big thank you to Navitas for believing in the power of education and transformation to the disadvantaged and the undeserved youths of this world.
