NAPS Insights: Australia and the UK navigating the managed era well
Earlier this year we launched our ninth round of our Navitas Agent Perception Survey (NAPS) to shine a spotlight on the voices of our valuable agent partners. Take a look at one of our key insights below.
Australia and the UK are standing firm despite challenging policy changes and difficult reputation perceptions facing other Big Four destinations.
Resilience of policy and reputation
Despite policy changes and tighter regulations, results from the most recent NAPS show that Australia and the UK are seen as weathering the storm of policy changes better than other Big Four destinations. Both destinations are maintaining reputations as safe, stable and welcoming to international students.
Australia and the UK have maintained their attractiveness from last year, suggesting that their reputation as a study destination is still positive. Both destinations continue to see strong interest from students. By contrast, the US and Canada both saw drops in reputation as ‘open and welcoming’ destinations – the US dropping 41 percentage points from last year and Canada dropping 14 percentage points.

What is driving success and opportunity in the UK and Australia?
The UK leads on visa processing and policy clarity, while Australia remains strong on post-study work rights and opportunities to work while studying. Both destinations have maintained strong positions regarding the perceived quality of education on offer. Universities in these markets can leverage these positive sentiments to emphasise certainty, student support and employability advantages.
About NAPS
Since 2020, our global agent perceptions research has given the agent community a voice in the global conversation about international education. The findings have proven extremely valuable to us and our university partners, as well as government stakeholders and key media audiences.
We use the findings from each survey to advocate for strong and effective government policy in study destinations, and to support our university partners and agents across the world.
