Navitas hosts Kenyan high school students for a UK study experience

This month, Navitas welcomed 28 students from nine leading Kenyan high schools for a UK study tour, providing first-hand insight into university life with a particular focus on sports-related degrees.

The trip began in Manchester with a visit to University Academy 92 (UA92), where students engaged with academics who bring first-hand experience from the professional sports industry. They participated in performance testing sessions, gaining valuable insight into the practical and applied nature of learning at UA92. Educational visits to both Manchester United and Manchester City stadiums further highlighted the wide range of career opportunities within the global sports industry.

At Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), students explored the city-centre campus and toured state-of-the-art sports facilities. They learnt about MMU’s diverse sports programmes and discovered how the university supports both academic and athletic development. The visit showcased the many opportunities available to students keen to study in the vibrant and dynamic city of Manchester.

The final leg of the tour took students to Brunel University London, where they were introduced to the university’s extensive course offerings, including law, health sciences, and games design, while experiencing the supportive learning environment. Students also explored London through a guided cultural tour, gaining a clearer understanding of what it is like to live and study in the UK capital.

Students also had the opportunity to learn about the programs and support available at Birmingham City University, thanks to a session delivered by the team. This added another dimension to the trip, giving students a taste of what it’s like to study in the UK’s largest and most dynamic cities — Manchester, London, and Birmingham.

Alongside the academic visits, the itinerary included fun and memorable experiences such as football matches, team activities, a visit to Alton Towers Theme Park, and the Emirates Stadium. The tour truly brought the idea of studying abroad to life, highlighting not only the academic opportunities but also the rich social and personal development that comes with pursuing higher education in the UK.

With the completion of this packed and inspiring trip, Navitas looks forward to collaborating with more schools to offer similar opportunities in the future.
