SAIBT Program Coordinator Manvi Gandhi wins 7NEWS Young Achiever Award!

Manvi Gandhi’s journey from international student to academic leader exemplifies resilience, purpose, and impact. Her mission is to now ensure that all students feel empowered and supported in their learning journey.

Currently the Program Coordinator for Health Sciences at the South Australian Institute of Business & Technology (SAIBT), Manvi leads curriculum development and academic delivery and shares her extensive experience in the STEM sector. As one of the youngest academic leaders in her role, she is also a dedicated mentor, inspiring young girls to explore and pursue careers in STEM.

Recently Manvi was honoured with the 7NEWS Young Achiever Award (Fresh 92.7 People’s Choice), and was also named a finalist for the Konica Minolta Career Achievement Award by Awards Australia that recognised her outstanding contributions to inclusive education, curriculum innovation, and student empowerment.

Manvi is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of the entire academic, student services, admissions, and marketing teams at SAIBT, who consistently voted for her and encouraged her along the way.

“This recognition strengthens my commitment to building a future where every young person – regardless of their background – feels seen, heard, and empowered to lead.”

Manvi’s work was recently spotlighted in an interview on Fresh 92.7 FM, Adelaide’s largest community radio station, where she shared insights into her professional journey, her passion for educational reform, and her vision for a more inclusive academic landscape.

As part of this interview, she shared an important message for the student community that has guided her throughout her academic journey:

“Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho toh puri kainaat tumhe use milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai!”  A Hindi phrase which means: “If you truly desire something from your heart, the whole universe conspires to help you achieve it!”

Never be afraid to step beyond your boundaries, said Manvi, follow your path and trust your journey.

Manvi’s wins were further celebrated in a profile article on the IndianLink website that highlighted her as a trailblazer in STEM and leadership.

Deeply connected to her roots, Manvi dedicates her achievements to young women from small towns who are often told their dreams are too ambitious, and to the students and communities who have inspired her along the way. Her story underscores the transformative power of education and the value of compassionate leadership grounded in empathy, courage, and vision.

Manvi is passionate about her roles as a teacher and as a program manager of the life sciences course where her responsibilities include shaping the curriculum, improving systems and addressing issues between students and staff. As an educator, she vows to not only be a leader but to truly advocate for teachers and students alike. It’s this dedication that earned her a Teaching Excellence Award in 2024, given to her by the South Australian Institute of Business and Technology.

“Students, especially international students, seem to relate to me a lot, and they know that my office is always open for a chat,” Manvi says.
