Recent SAE University College (SAE) film graduate Ash Mines has been named the winner of the 2026 SAE x Format Portfolio Award, recognising his creativity, professional readiness and standout body of work.

Based at SAE Byron Bay, Ash combined hands-on learning with real-world industry experience throughout his degree, developing a passion for documentary and adventure filmmaking grounded in authentic storytelling. Today, he is focused on creating meaningful visual stories that connect people with the world around them.
