Global education services provider, Navitas Limited, is pleased to announce that it has renewed agreements with Curtin University for the Perth based Curtin College and the Curtin Singapore Campus.
The Curtin College relationship with Curtin University commenced in 2000 and has supported over 9,000 students to achieve their educational goals through a supportive and student outcomes focused partnership.
Curtin College, located on Curtin University’s main Bentley, WA campus, offers a wide range of programs including Commerce, IT, Engineering, Built Environment, Creative Industries, and Health Sciences to international and domestic students who then qualify for direct entry into the second year of the University’s bachelor programs.
The agreement for Curtin College has been renewed for ten years until January 2028 with a further five year extension option.
The agreement foreshadows the physical relocation of Curtin College on Curtin University’s main Bentley campus to the new Greater Curtin precinct which is planned to be built in the next four years. As the Greater Curtin arrangements are not yet finalised both parties have agreed to finalise the relocation and associated commercial terms in good faith by 2021.
If the parties are unable to finalise this matter by 2021, they will renegotiate the terms of the agreement. In the event that a renegotiated agreement cannot be reached, either party may elect to terminate the agreement.
The Curtin Singapore campus has been operational since 2008 and has helped to improve the accessibility of high quality Australian education to many students in Singapore and in the region.
Curtin’s Singapore managed campus offers full undergraduate programs including Commerce, Humanities, and Health Sciences to Singaporean and international students. The campus also offers postgraduate programs including Curtin’s MBA Global as well as Masters programs in Health Science, International Business and Nursing.
The agreement with Curtin University to manage its Singapore campus has been renewed for ten years until March 2028. The agreement includes a commitment to use best endeavours to explore alternative premises for the college as the lease for the existing college premises expires within the term of the new agreement.
“We are very pleased to be extending our relationship with Curtin University with these two agreements and are excited about the opportunities we can create together for international and domestic students,” said Navitas Group Chief Executive Officer, Rod Jones.
“We look forward to relocating Curtin College to a purpose built facility in the heart of the Curtin University precinct in the near future. We are also pleased that we will be able to continue to support access to high quality education in the Asian region via Curtin Singapore well into the future.” Mr Jones concluded.
“Curtin has enjoyed a strong and successful relationship with Navitas for many years, and the University is delighted to continue the partnership with these two agreements,” said Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry.
“Curtin’s global reputation as a leader in education, research and innovation continues to grow, and the renewed partnership with Navitas in Singapore will enable Curtin to continue to deliver high-quality education in a key market. In addition, our partnership through Curtin College will strengthen pathways into the University, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.”
